PRIVATE LESSONS
Cornerstone offers an excellent program of comprehensive private lessons for beginning students to the most advanced performer. Over the years, many of our students have gone onto careers in music and have won top awards and prizes nationally and internationally. We cordially invite you to come meet our wonderful teachers and discuss your music education goals. Sample private lessons are available for a nominal $25 fee.
Private lessons at Cornerstone are currently available for the following instruments:
Piano, Violin, Viola, Cello, Voice, Flute, Oboe, Clarinet, Saxophone, Trumpet, Trombone, French Horn, Tuba, Bassoon, Recorder, Guitar, and Percussion (including Timpani). Also available are private lessons in Music Theory, Conducting, Orchestration, Film Scoring, College Prep. Musical Theater/Audition Prep, Composition and Jazz Improv.

**Note: Fees for private lessons and Harmony Road are based on 45 lessons per year. The number of lessons actually received each month may vary, depending on scheduled Calendar Holidays. The amount of monthly tuition, however, remains the same. Tuition is due and payable on the first day of each month. Families with more than one student attending CMC receive a 5% discount for each additional family member attending classes. A 5% discount is also applied when a student is enrolled concurrently in a second class. CMC reserves the right to merge or cancel classes which do not maintain a minimum enrollment. Some partial scholarships are available upon application.

Our piano teachers teach a variety of styles from classical to popular music. Whether you want to learn a classical sonatina, rock chords, or popular sheet music, our teachers are happy to help you become the pianist you want to be. Our piano faculty will show you the fundamentals of sight reading, technique and theory, but they will also incorporate your favorite songs into your lessons.
Our guitar teachers teach a variety of styles from classical to popular music. Whether you want to learn a classical sonatina, rock chords, or popular sheet music, our teachers are happy to help you become the guitarist you want to be. Our guitar teachers have warm personalities and enjoy sharing their love for the guitar with you.
If you want to play in rock band, you can! We have a Cornerstone Rock Band that frequently performs at the West LA Farmer's Market.
Our string instructors will teach all styles of music, from learning to play by ear to reading music. If you want to play classical music or the fiddle, we have a teacher for you. Students can be as young as 5 years old, or younger with the teacher's approval. Our students love learning the fundamentals, as well as incorporating your favorite songs into their lessons. Our violin teachers have friendly personalities and love working with children and teens and adults!
If you have always wanted to be a better rock, pop, country, jazz, gospel, theatre, or R&B singer, then we have the right voice teachers for you! Voice students spend time each week doing physical exercises to improve their vocal range, ear training, breath control, vibrato, tone production, diction and more. All voice students set goals with their teacher to work on sounding like their favorite recording artists, preparing for a theatre audition, or if they prefer, to develop their own unique voice.
Our drum instructors will teach rock, metal, jazz, funk, blues and many other styles. Our instructors will challenge any drummer with a variety of technical exercises designed to improve your speed and comfort. You do not have to purchase a drum kit to take lessons. Beginning students can learn with a drum pad and sticks for about $40.00. Students use our drum set at their lessons and do not have to bring anything except their drum sticks and a notebook. We also offer Percussion Lessons, which is a wonderful addition to any school band program, rock band, or worship band.
Our woodwinds and brass teachers teach all styles of music, whether it's for marching, jazz, or symphonic band. If you want to play any music from classical to blues, we have a teacher for you. Our students love learning the fundamentals, as well as incorporating your favorite songs into their lessons. Our teachers have friendly personalities and love working with children, teens and adults!
